Body Mass Index (BMI)

Body Mass Index (BMI)

Body Mass Index or BMI, is a calculation used by your provider or other professionals to quickly identify any possible concerns with your weight! Body Mass Index is a simply calculation between height & weight! BMI is your weight (in kilograms) over your height squared (in centimeters).

Step 1: Convert your weight in pounds to kilograms:
                              Multiply your weight in pounds by 0.45 Example: 200 lbs x 0.45 = 90

Step 2: Convert: Height in Inches to Centimeters
                              Multiply your height in inches by 0.025 Exam: 65 inches x 0.025 = 1.625
Step 3: Square your height in centimeters
                              1.625 x 1.625 = 2.64
Step 4: Take your answer to Step 1 and divided by Step 3 Answer
                             90 / 2.64 = 34

In this example the BMI for this 5' 5" & 200 lb individual is a value of 34!
